Dorothea with Veil

The Dorothea Gown by Monique Lhuillier from the Spring 2023 collection is a breathtaking ball gown crafted from French re-embroidered lace and soft tulle. Worn once for my beach wedding in 2024, the dress was professionally cleaned and is now stored at Kleinfeld. Its strapless corset bodice is unlined except for the cups, showcasing delicate lace appliqués that cascade into a full, floating tulle skirt. One layer of the skirt was removed, and the hem was shortened to fit my height (5’7” with heels). The gown moves beautifully with the wind, creating an ethereal, levitating effect. It fits like a dream—light, secure, and perfectly contoured to my frame (5’3”, 105 lbs, size 0 dress, 24 jeans). A bustle was added and tailored to match the floor length of the skirt. Included with the gown is the matching veil, completing a romantic, timeless bridal look that felt as magical as it looked.
